PHOTO OP: Live performance by drummers from the Providence Black Repertory Company Theater to kick off news conference Thursday, June 12 at 1:30pm
PROVIDENCE – Mayor David N. Cicilline and representatives from the Greater Kennedy Plaza Working Group will launch an exciting initiative designed to transform the Kennedy Plaza area into an exciting destination at a news conference on Thursday, June 12 at 1:30 p.m.
Officials will announce the summer line-up of fun-filled activities at Kennedy Plaza, including Rhythm & Soul Sundays. The Providence Black Repertory Company will provide a live preview of Kennedy Plaza’s Sunday performances at Thursday’s news conference.
The Greater Kennedy Plaza Working Group is a public/private partnership focused on transforming Kennedy Plaza into a lively public square, rich with activity. Representatives of the group include the City of Providence, RIPTA, Cornish Associates, Providence Foundation, Crossroads RI, Providence Center, Young Voices, Providence Tourism Council and other area businesses.
